A game called "The Mad Murderer" has been criticized by Roblox users as being violent. The game allows players to kill other characters by using a knife or a gun. It was reported that German and French users discovered the game while they were in Las Vegas for a conference. In response, Roblox changed the coding of this game so that the users can only use the knife when playing the game, instead of using guns as well. Players who used guns on other players would be banned from Roblox. Roblox stated that they were "going to continue to refine the game".

I also remember back when Minecraft was first released, how difficult it was to find anyone who was willing to play with you or help you if your work didn't work out; but I did find my lovely wonderful best friend through Roblox and we play together every single day. Even though there is no one on my friends list, I can still go into Roblox and join a game with other people. When I do that, my friend will always join me if she's in the same room. But even so, I never have any actual friends ingame because it becomes a very lonely experience as time progresses.

The first product launched by ROBLOX was "Builders Club" on May 21, 2006 which allowed players to create 3D environments and watch other players' creations online. This product was followed by "Dance Off" on November 29, 2006. Both of these games had been in development since the launch of the website; "Dance Off" being originally named "Crazy Dance Fight". In 2007, ROBLOX launched a new line of products called "Roblox Toys". The first and only one to be released at that time was "Helicopter", which was shipped in December 2007.

This game has many bugs such as glitching which can happen at any time including in games. There is no way to report this glitch due to the fact that the button isn't there and you can only report it from the website. This is extremely annoying because you need to refresh the page and play all over again, but this usually happens when you are about to win.

Roblox has been nominated for an O149 Award at Inked Awards 2014. This was for the Developer of the Year category. On January 9, 2018, Roblox won the People's Choice award in the Family category for the 9th Annual Webby Awards.
